Dubai Media Incorporated, which runs Dubai TV, and Kuwait’s Ministry of Information, which oversees Kuwait Television, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen media cooperation between the two countries. The agreement aims to increase teamwork, share professional experience, and jointly create content for Gulf and Arab audiences.

The MoU was signed during the visit of a UAE media delegation to Kuwait. The visit was organised by the Dubai Press Club. This step reflects the long-standing and close relationship between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, as well as their shared efforts to build stronger media partnerships.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Dubai Media Incorporated by His Excellency Mohamed AlMulla, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Media Incorporated. It was signed on behalf of Kuwait’s Ministry of Information by Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.

The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al Awadhi, Kuwait’s Minister of Health and Acting Minister of Information and Culture, and Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al Awadhi said the MoU shows how closely Kuwait and the UAE share the same vision for the future of media. He said the agreement is an important step toward stronger and more organised media cooperation. According to him, the partnership will open new doors for joint content production, improve professional skills, and help create programmes that reflect the culture and values of both countries.

He also explained that Kuwait’s Ministry of Information sees this partnership as a platform to encourage innovation and digital development. At the same time, it will help Gulf media become more visible and competitive at regional and international levels through better coordination between media organisations in both nations.

The MoU includes many areas of cooperation. These include joint production of television programmes in sports, heritage, culture, and social topics. It also covers the exchange of news, reports, and event coverage. Both sides will work together to support digital platforms and TV channels through advertising, marketing, and joint promotional campaigns. The agreement also allows for the exchange or acquisition of media rights, following all laws and regulations. In addition, it focuses on sharing expertise, providing technical support, offering training, and making it easier to carry out joint media projects.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri said the agreement reflects the deep and historic relationship between the UAE and Kuwait. She noted that both countries are committed to expanding media cooperation to meet the hopes and expectations of audiences across the Gulf and the wider Arab world.

She added that the future growth of the media industry depends on strong partnerships. These partnerships should focus on sharing knowledge and producing high-quality content that respects community needs while protecting Gulf culture and identity. She also pointed out that working together on programmes, sports and heritage content, and news exchange will help create content that feels closer to people and truly represents shared Gulf values.

His Excellency Mohamed AlMulla said the MoU is an important step toward opening new paths for media cooperation. He explained that it will support the exchange of experience and media content and help produce a wide range of programmes that match audience expectations.

He further said the agreement will encourage joint television productions, seasonal shows, and cooperation in sports and heritage content. At the same time, it will strengthen the shared Gulf cultural identity and improve the presence of Gulf media at both regional and international levels through strong institutional cooperation and digital development.
