Abu Dhabi — The UAE’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to national unity and progress as the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 concluded in Abu Dhabi. Over 500 officials gathered from federal and local entities to chart the next chapter of the country’s development, with landmark projects aimed at driving sustainable growth, innovation, and well-being.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, attended the closing day, emphasizing that the UAE’s success stems from a unified national team working under one flag and one vision. He reiterated that people remain at the heart of all government priorities, with transparency, accountability, and collaboration defining the UAE’s governance model.
The three-day event featured more than 40 sessions covering vital areas such as economy, technology, national identity, and sustainability. Major initiatives launched during the meetings reflected the UAE’s forward-looking agenda — focused on empowerment, innovation, and resilience.
Among the highlights was the launch of the “National Family Growth Agenda 2031”, designed to strengthen family values as the cornerstone of Emirati identity. The “Emirati National Identity Strategy” was also unveiled, developed jointly by the Ministry of Culture and the Presidential Court’s National Projects Office, to reinforce cultural pride and social cohesion.
The UAE took another leap in digital governance with the introduction of “Unified UAE Numbers”, an AI-driven national platform for real-time data and statistics to enhance informed decision-making and readiness for future challenges.
A key feature of the meetings was the recognition of the nation’s “Union Teams,” honoring their role in elevating the UAE’s global standing. Honorees included the UAE Mission to the UN in New York, the UAE Pavilion Team for Expo 2025 Osaka, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center Team. The gatherings also celebrated winners of the UAE Order for Culture and Creativity and the UAE AI Award, spotlighting excellence across innovation and culture.
The final day also saw the launch of the “UAE Experts in Artificial Intelligence Programme”, an initiative unveiled by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aimed at nurturing a generation of national AI leaders. Sheikh Mansour also chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Development Council, which brought together senior officials from across the nation to discuss upcoming development goals.
Demonstrating the UAE’s readiness for the future, a large-scale national tabletop exercise led by the National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) tested coordination among key agencies in responding to extreme weather events and cyberattacks.
The event further included the Economic Data Retreat, uniting government and economic leaders to strengthen the country’s financial and digital systems, as well as the Water Acceleration Programme, a joint effort to prepare for the 2026 UN Water Conference to be hosted by the UAE.
In a first, the UAE Government & Business Dialogue for Action brought together public and private sector leaders to align innovation with national priorities. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure also revealed a AED 170 billion package of national transport and road projects to be completed by 2030 — a major step to enhance connectivity and mobility nationwide.
Adding to its digital transformation drive, the government launched the AI Readiness Index, a tool to measure the preparedness of federal entities for AI-led operations.
The UAE International Press Conference, organized by the UAE Government Media Office, also debuted during the meetings, hosting more than 200 local and international media professionals to discuss the UAE’s development journey.
Since its inception in 2017, the UAE Government Annual Meetings have become a vital national platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration. This year’s edition reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering pursuit of excellence — a vision rooted in unity, guided by leadership, and driven by the collective ambition to build a prosperous future for generations to come.
