Dubai Judicial Council approves key reforms, promotions

Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the Dubai Judicial Council, chaired a meeting focused on enhancing Dubai’s judicial efficiency and integrity. The session reflected his continued efforts to strengthen the emirate’s justice system through innovation, talent development, and digital integration.

During the meeting, Sheikh Maktoum approved the promotion of several judges and members of the Public Prosecution, recognising their dedication and contribution to Dubai’s judicial excellence. He also endorsed the new organisational structure for the Dubai Judicial Institute and announced the launch of the Best Judicial Practices Forum, an initiative aimed at sharing expertise between local and international judicial institutions.

The Council reviewed updates on judicial performance, staffing matters, and strategic partnerships. A key highlight was the review of Memoranda of Understanding signed with leading universities across the UAE. These agreements aim to enhance academic collaboration, provide practical training for law students, and nurture young Emirati talent for future judicial roles.

Sheikh Maktoum also emphasised Dubai’s commitment to building a fully integrated judicial system guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He stressed the need to adopt advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, to improve judicial performance and customer satisfaction.

The meeting also reviewed the participation of Dubai’s judicial entities at GITEX GLOBAL 2025, where Dubai Courts, Dubai Public Prosecution, DIFC Courts, and other bodies showcased their collective innovations under a unified platform.

With the approval of the new organisational structure for the Dubai Judicial Institute, the Council reaffirmed its focus on future-ready training standards and continuous professional development for judicial staff.
