Sharjah’s Sheraa Empowers 1,000 Entrepreneurs by 2030

Sharjah is fast emerging as a hub for innovation, with the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa) spearheading efforts to cultivate a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. By 2030, Sheraa aims to support over 1,000 entrepreneurs through initiatives designed to transform ideas into sustainable, globally scalable projects.

Inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and the directives of H.H. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Sheraa focuses on empowering youth and promoting entrepreneurship as pillars of Sharjah’s future growth. Its initiatives align with the UAE’s national campaign to position the country as “The Startup Capital of the World,” aiming to train 10,000 Emirati entrepreneurs and create 30,000 job opportunities.

Since its inception, Sheraa has supported more than 450 startups, generating over US$370 million in combined revenues and attracting nearly US$300 million in capital investment. More than 2,600 jobs have been created, reflecting the centre’s growing influence in shaping the region’s entrepreneurial landscape.

Comprehensive Programs for Every Entrepreneurial Stage

Sheraa’s Sharjah Startup Studio offers an intensive four-month accelerator program, providing specialised consulting, funding access, and digital tools valued at over AED3 million. Entrepreneurs gain practical experience, mentorship, and opportunities to connect with investors, preparing them for sustainable growth and regional expansion.

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival, the largest platform of its kind in the region, unites innovators, investors, and decision-makers through workshops, sessions, and networking opportunities. Since its launch in 2017, the festival has welcomed over 44,000 visitors and continues to expand its global reach.

Sheraa also drives sector-specific innovation through the Sharjah Gateway Challenge, which invites startups to provide solutions in fields such as education, agriculture, technology, AI, and sustainability. Complementing this, the Sharjah Impact Makers Fellowship empowers women leaders and entrepreneurs, with female-led companies representing 51% of Sheraa’s incubated projects.

For students and young innovators, the Entrepreneurship Dojo program nurtures ideas from concept to market launch, supporting over 200 students from 21 universities across the UAE. Meanwhile, Sheraa Investment Marina connects startups directly with investors, enhancing funding opportunities and readiness for global growth.

With a suite of integrated initiatives spanning ideation, scaling, and investment access, Sheraa is cementing its role as a key driver of innovation, talent, and entrepreneurship in Sharjah and the wider UAE.
