Sharjah Sets Up Alimony Fund to Help Divorced Families

Sharjah has approved a new Alimony Fund to help women and children who are not receiving the financial support ordered by the court.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, announced the decision during a recent Executive Council meeting.

This fund will give quick financial help to divorced women and their children while they wait for alimony payments. The goal is to reduce their financial struggles and protect the family’s dignity.The fund will step in to pay alimony temporarily, and the government will later collect the amount from the person who was ordered to pay by the court.

This move shows Sharjah’s strong commitment to family care, women’s rights, and social justice. It also reflects the government’s focus on improving community welfare and helping those in need.
