Sharjah Allocates AED 950k for 19th Children’s Theatre Festival

Sharjah is set to celebrate imagination and creativity as His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, approves a generous AED 950,000 budget for the Emirates Children’s Theatre Festival (ECTF). The 19th edition of this landmark event is scheduled for December at the Sharjah Cultural Palace, promising a vibrant celebration of arts for the young.

The festival, organised by the UAE Theatrical Association in partnership with the Sharjah Department of Culture, has long been recognised as a platform for nurturing young talent and inspiring creativity. By prioritising children’s theatre, Sharjah continues to invest in the cultural foundation of the next generation, encouraging artistic exploration and imaginative thinking from an early age.

This year’s allocation highlights the city’s continued commitment to the performing arts, reflecting a broader vision that extends beyond children’s theatre to include specialised events like the Kalba Short Plays Festival, Desert Theatre Festival, Sharjah Gulf Theatre Festival, and the Arab Theatre Festival.
