Sharjah Executive Council Advances Economy & Cultural Heritage

Sharjah is taking bold steps to strengthen its economic and cultural landscape. The Sharjah Executive Council, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, convened its weekly meeting to review key government initiatives, service improvements, and efforts to enhance the emirate’s overall quality of life.

The meeting, held at the Ruler’s Office, saw participation from H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers and Vice Chairmen of the SEC. The council reviewed performance reports from multiple departments and authorities, focusing on strategic developments that serve citizens and residents.

A major highlight of the session was the appointment of Aisha Rashid Al Hasan Al Shamsi as Secretary-General of the Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage (SIACH). In her expanded role, she will lead strategic planning, marketing, administrative supervision, and coordination between the Board of Trustees, judging committees, and relevant entities. Her responsibilities also include promoting awareness, organizing the award launch, and overseeing the nomination and evaluation processes.

The Council further examined a presentation from the Higher Committee for Economic Integration, emphasizing efforts to boost the emirate’s GDP and strengthen investor services. The committee highlighted key economic indicators and identified opportunities for sustainable growth across multiple sectors. Initiatives focus on strategic data analysis, economic awareness, and policies that foster long-term development.

Sharjah’s visual identity campaign (2023–2025), covering culture, entertainment, and economy, was reviewed in detail. The campaign achieved millions of views, elevated the emirate’s profile, encouraged investment, and strengthened engagement across digital platforms and events. The new advertising strategy emphasizes sustainability, well-being, education, and culture, aiming to reach wider audiences and expand regional influence.

Through these steps, the Sharjah Executive Council continues to reinforce its commitment to fostering economic resilience, cultural excellence, and an enriched quality of life for residents, positioning the emirate as a hub of innovation and heritage in the region.
