Manchester United secured a vital 1-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League on Monday, thanks to a second-half goal from Benjamin Sesko.
Coming off the bench for the second straight match, Sesko made an immediate impact. The striker scored the only goal of the game in the 71st minute, finishing with a first-time shot after a precise pass from Bryan Mbeumo.
The match was largely scrappy, with few clear chances for either side. United nearly opened the scoring early on when Amad Diallo saw his effort cleared off the line by James Tarkowski.
United goalkeeper Senne Lammens had a quiet game for most of the night but was crucial in the closing stages. He denied teenager Harrison Armstrong and later saved a powerful long-range strike from Michael Keane to preserve the clean sheet.
The win lifts United clear in fourth place under manager Michael Carrick, moving three points ahead of both Chelsea and Liverpool in the race for Champions League qualification.
Sesko’s back-to-back goals as a substitute continue to prove decisive as United strengthen their position in the Premier League top four.
