Saudi Hosts 3rd IMF Deputies Meeting in Diriyah

Saudi Arabia just finished a big meeting with important money leaders from around the world. The meeting was held in Diriyah on April 6 and 7. It was the third time this group, called the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), got together. The meeting was planned by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister, Mohammed Aljadaan, gave a welcome speech. He thanked the leaders of the IMF and all the members of the IMFC for their hard work. He said it is very important for all countries to work together to keep the world’s money system strong. He also said that the IMF has done a good job keeping up with all the changes happening around the world.

Dr. Kristalina Georgieva, who is the head of the IMF, also gave a speech. She thanked Saudi Arabia for helping the IMF. She said that even though the world is changing, the job of the IMF to keep money and economies stable is still very important. She said all 191 countries that are part of the IMF can trust it to give good advice and help.

At the meeting, leaders talked about many things. They talked about how to keep the world’s money system safe and how to help all people have a chance to grow. They also talked about problems caused by trade changes, debt, and the need for jobs and buildings. They shared ideas on how to handle new problems from technology and changes in the number of people living in each country.

They also talked about how the IMF can help countries when they are having money problems. And they spoke about how countries in the same region can help each other.

Saudi Arabia led this meeting, which shows that it wants to help the world work together. This meeting helps countries come up with good ideas to fix big money problems.

The IMFC has 25 members. These are people like finance ministers and heads of banks from rich and poor countries. They meet to talk about money problems and give advice to help the world.
