UAE Shines at Asian Youth Games with Record Medal Haul

Bahrain, November 2025 — The UAE sports contingent made a remarkable impact at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, closing the event as the top Arab nation with an impressive total of 31 medals. The competition, hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain, saw over 5,000 young athletes from 45 countries come together in a celebration of regional sporting excellence.

A team of 152 athletes proudly represented the UAE across 19 disciplines, including athletics, swimming, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, equestrian, camel racing, and e-sports. Their collective determination and discipline reflected the growing strength of Emirati youth in international sports.

The UAE’s medal tally featured standout performances such as a gold in the 50-metre butterfly — marking the fastest timing in the history of the Games — and multiple podium finishes by the national jiu-jitsu team. The debut teams in Muay Thai and camel racing also captured attention with their strong entries, while athletes in athletics and swimming set new records.
