The Presidential Court has officially announced that the holy month of Ramadan will begin in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
This decision was made after the Moon Sighting Committee, under the UAE Council for Fatwa, confirmed that the crescent moon of Ramadan was sighted. The committee met in Abu Dhabi on Friday evening, February 28, 2025 (corresponding to 29th Sha’ban 1446 AH), to observe the moon. Based on their findings, it was decided that Saturday would mark the beginning of the fasting month.
