Ras Al Khaimah is taking a significant step to support local businesses facing challenges due to ongoing infrastructure projects in Al Riffa and Al Jazeera Al Hamra. The emirate has announced a two-year exemption on commercial license fees for affected enterprises, aiming to ease operational pressures while development work continues.
The initiative, announced under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, reflects a proactive approach to balancing growth with support for the business community. Companies impacted by roadworks, construction, or other public projects in these areas will benefit directly from the financial relief, helping them maintain operations without disruption.

Local businesses have welcomed the measure, noting that development works, while essential for long-term infrastructure improvement, often strain daily operations and increase operational costs. Small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular, are expected to benefit from this policy, which provides breathing room during construction periods.
The move also aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s broader economic vision: boosting investor confidence, encouraging sustainable business growth, and strengthening the emirate’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. By reducing immediate financial burdens, the leadership is enabling local enterprises to continue thriving despite temporary challenges caused by urban development.
With this step, Ras Al Khaimah is reinforcing its reputation as a business-friendly emirate that combines infrastructural progress with practical support for its commercial community.
