Amsterdam, January 27, 2025 – PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays and related solutions, has officially introduced its most advanced and intelligent digital signage display range to date: the Philips Signage 5000 Series (D-Line).

This next-generation signage platform marks a major step forward in display intelligence, performance, and sustainability, delivering cutting-edge AI processing capabilities, enhanced UHD visuals, and improved energy efficiency for professional environments worldwide.

Next-Level Processing Power with AI Capabilities

The Philips Signage 5000 Series is designed to support the growing demand for artificial intelligence in digital displays. It is powered by an advanced octa-core processor and features a 6 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enabling up to six trillion operations per second.

This powerful AI engine allows businesses to run AI-driven applications faster and more efficiently, ensuring smooth performance without slowing down CPU or GPU operations. The result is seamless user interaction, intelligent content processing, and future-ready digital signage capabilities.

Andrea Barbuti, Global Product Management Lead EMEA at PPDS, said the new series reflects the rapid evolution of AI and the growing opportunities for businesses. He emphasized that PPDS is preparing customers for both current and future AI-driven applications with displays that deliver speed, responsiveness, and reliability.

Enhanced Visual Performance and Flexible Installation

The Philips Signage 5000 Series builds on the success of the widely adopted Philips Signage 4650 Series, which is used across retail, corporate, transportation, education, and public venues.

The new displays feature UHD resolution with up to 600 nits brightness (500 nits on the 32-inch Full HD model), ensuring clear and vibrant visuals in a wide range of lighting conditions.

Available in multiple screen sizes—32”, 43”, 50”, 55”, 65”, 75”, 86”, and 98”—the displays can be installed in both portrait and landscape orientations, offering maximum flexibility for different professional applications.

24/7 Reliability with FailOver Technology

Designed for continuous operation, the Philips Signage 5000 Series supports 24/7 usage and includes FailOver technology to prevent screen downtime.

If the primary media player fails, the display automatically switches to backup content, ensuring uninterrupted playback—an essential feature for critical environments such as airports, railway stations, and corporate command centers.

Android 14 Platform and Remote Content Control

The new signage series runs on an upgraded Android 14 professional SoC platform, allowing users to install Android apps and web applications directly on the display without the need for an external media player.

With built-in HTML5 support and a Chromium-based browser, businesses can create, manage, and control content remotely across single screens or global display networks using cloud platforms.

Philips Wave Ecosystem Integration

The Philips Signage 5000 Series is fully compatible with the Philips Wave ecosystem, PPDS’ cloud-based management platform.

Philips Wave enables simplified installation, remote monitoring, firmware updates, playlist management, and power scheduling. This helps businesses reduce energy consumption, optimize operations, and lower environmental impact.

Connectivity options include LAN, Wi-Fi, and an optional 4G module, ensuring reliable communication in any environment.

Sustainability and Extended Product Lifespan

Sustainability is a core focus of the Philips Signage 5000 Series. The displays consume less power than previous models and feature a modular dual-architecture design, allowing components to be easily replaced instead of discarding the entire unit.

This approach reduces electronic waste and extends product lifecycles, aligning with global sustainability goals.

The displays also support a wide range of connectivity options, including HDMI, DisplayPort, HDMI Out, RS232, LAN (Gigabit), and USB-C, enabling users to reuse existing cables and equipment.

Industry Outlook and Product Launch

The Philips Signage 5000 Series will be showcased publicly for the first time at ISE 2026 in Barcelona at the Philips booth (3N500).

Bart Wouters, International Product Manager for Professional Displays at PPDS, stated that the new series builds on the legacy of the D-Line, offering enhanced features, sustainability improvements, and greater versatility to meet evolving business needs.
