Smriti Mandhana’s Fiancé Palash Muchhal: “Still Dreaming!”

But amid the nationwide celebration, all eyes turned to cricketer Smriti Mandhana and her fiancé, filmmaker and music composer Palash Muchhal, whose emotional post captured hearts online.

Soon after the victory, Palash took to Instagram to share a heartwarming photo with Smriti from the stadium. In the picture, Smriti, wrapped in the tricolour and holding the glittering World Cup trophy, beams with pride, while Palash stands beside her, arm around her shoulders. The caption read simply: “Am I still dreaming?” — a line that perfectly summed up the nation’s collective emotion.

Just days before the final, Palash had posted another celebratory photo after India’s dramatic win against Australia, writing, “This part of my life right here is called... happiness.” Fans quickly flooded his comment section with congratulatory messages for both the team and the couple.

The duo, who reportedly began dating in 2019, have kept their relationship largely private. They made it Instagram official only last year. Last month, Palash confirmed their upcoming wedding at a State Press Club event, saying with a smile, “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore… that is all I want to say. I have given you the headline.”

According to reports, the wedding festivities will begin on November 20 in Smriti’s hometown, Sangli, Maharashtra.

Palash Muchhal, known for his work in films alongside his sister Palak Muchhal, is currently busy with his directorial project Raju Bajewala, starring Avika Gor and Chandan Roy.
