Miral has celebrated the successful conclusion of its 2024 Summer Squad program with a graduation ceremony held at SeaWorld Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The event marked the end of a six-week work experience initiative designed for students aged 16 to 18. This year, 64 students from over 30 schools in Abu Dhabi participated, with six returning from the previous year, highlighting the program's growing popularity.

The Summer Squad program, which ran from July to August, provides practical experience in the tourism and entertainment sectors. Students gained hands-on experience across various departments at Yas Island’s theme parks, including guest services, operations, retail, entertainment, and zoological areas. The initiative not only offers valuable industry insights but also includes daily compensation and a duty meal during the seven-hour work shifts.

Mariam Al Musharrekh, Executive Director of Human Resources at Miral Group, expressed pride in the achievements of this year's graduates. She noted, "The 2024 Summer Squad graduating class marks the second cohort to complete this enriching program. We are proud of their development and the real-world experience they gained. Summer Squad provides a unique opportunity for young individuals to learn about theme park operations in a fun and memorable setting, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing future industry leaders and supporting the UAE’s dynamic tourism sector."

Since its inception in 2023, the Summer Squad program has welcomed 154 students from more than 20 nationalities, including UAE nationals. Experienced leaders in various departments mentored and guided the students throughout their work experience.

The success of Summer Squad is attributed to the active involvement of participating Abu Dhabi schools. Looking ahead, Miral plans to launch a winter edition of the program, Winter Squad, in December, with registration opening in early October.

Miral continues to be recognized as a leading employer in the leisure, entertainment, and tourism sectors, offering diverse skill development opportunities through initiatives like its Maharaty talent development program, which aims to train and recruit UAE nationals. Miral's commitment to employee empowerment was acknowledged with its ranking among the UAE's top workplaces in the 2024 LinkedIn Top Companies List and receiving the Great Place to Work certification.
