Mbappe, Olise goals give France 2-0 win over Germany in Nations League

France ended their Nations League campaign on a high note by beating Germany 2-0 on Sunday in Stuttgart. Thanks to goals from team captain Kylian Mbappe and young forward Michael Olise, France secured third place in this season's tournament.

Germany, the hosts of the finals, were hoping to bounce back after losing to Portugal in the semi-final. They started strong and came close to scoring when Florian Wirtz hit the post in the first half. But just before halftime, Mbappe took a long pass from Aurelien Tchouameni, controlled the ball beautifully, and fired it into the net. It was a special moment for Mbappe, as this was his 50th goal for the French national team.

In the second half, Germany thought they had equalised when Deniz Undav scored. But after checking the video replay (VAR), the goal was disallowed because of a foul by Niclas Fuellkrug during the build-up.

France stayed in control of the match. Although they missed a few chances to increase their lead, they finally sealed the win near the end of the game. Mbappe passed the ball to Olise, who easily scored, making it 2-0.

This win was important for France after their semi-final loss to Spain. It also means Germany ends their Nations League journey with two defeats, including one against Portugal where Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner.

Mbappe, now just one goal behind Thierry Henry on France’s all-time top scorer list, once again showed why he’s one of the best players in the world. And Olise, with his calm finish, gave fans a glimpse of a bright future for France.
