A Night to Remember: Stars Grace the Ramp
The audience was treated to a show packed with popular faces and beautiful designs. Among the top highlights of the evening were young actors Rasha Thadani and Ibrahim Ali Khan, who turned heads as they confidently walked the ramp for Valaya.
Rasha, daughter of actor Raveena Tandon, looked stunning and graceful as she made her debut as a showstopper. Dressed in one of Valaya’s signature couture pieces, she walked with style, poise, and elegance, winning the crowd’s attention and admiration.
Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actor Saif Ali Khan, also impressed with his magnetic stage presence. Wearing an outfit designed by Valaya, he brought royal charm and youthful energy to the ramp. His confident walk and charming smile were major highlights of the show.
Abhishek Sharma Opens the Show With Style
The event started with a powerful opening by India cricketer Abhishek Sharma. He wore a beautifully embroidered floral kurta with a matching bundi jacket, decorated with cutdana work (a traditional form of Indian hand embroidery using glass beads). His attire reflected Valaya’s attention to detail and his deep respect for traditional Indian craftsmanship.
Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse Walk Hand in Hand
Adding a touch of romance and elegance to the evening, actor Rahul Dev walked the ramp with his wife, actress Mugdha Godse. Their chemistry was clearly visible as they made their appearance in coordinated couture outfits. Their presence on the ramp added both maturity and grace to the show.
The Collection: ‘East’ Celebrates 33 Years of JJ Valaya
“East” was not just a fashion collection—it was a journey into the heart of Indian design, history, and tradition. The collection was launched as a tribute to Valaya’s 33 years in the fashion industry, and it lived up to every bit of its promise.
The designer’s goal was to blend traditional Indian silhouettes with modern-day elegance. And he did just that. The show featured 60 different outfits, each unique in style and story. From flowy anarkalis to rich lehengas, every piece reflected Valaya’s unmatched craftsmanship.
Mini Veils & Female Turbans: A Bold Twist
One of the most talked-about design elements of the show was the use of mini veils. These were designed especially for brides who want a lighter and more stylish option instead of the usual long, heavy veils.
Female models were also seen wearing turbans, a fashion choice that gave a strong, bold twist to otherwise traditional Indian wear. These small changes made a big impact, pushing boundaries and showcasing how modern Indian couture can continue to evolve.
Cinematic Beauty in Every Look
Each outfit looked like it had come straight from a movie scene. Rich fabrics, royal colors, detailed embroidery, and classic accessories were used to create an overall cinematic experience.
The designs were created using luxurious textiles, intricate detailing, and a color palette that reflected the diverse beauty of the East. Shades of deep maroon, gold, silver, beige, and royal blue stood out the most.
An Exclusive Guest List and Glitz All Around
The fashion show was not just about clothes. It was about the people, the vibe, and the excitement in the air. With more than 300 guests, the show became a hotspot for celebrities, designers, stylists, and media personalities.
All eyes were on the runway, but the audience was just as glamorous. Fashion enthusiasts from all across India and beyond gathered to witness Valaya’s magic.
JJ Valaya’s Vision for the Future of Couture
The show marked a milestone in Valaya’s long journey as a fashion designer. With this collection, he reminded everyone why he continues to be one of the most respected names in the fashion industry.
His ability to mix old-world traditions with modern fashion sensibilities has made him a favorite not just in India, but on international runways as well.
Why ‘East’ Was More Than Just a Collection
The name East wasn’t just symbolic of geography—it represented culture, heritage, and deep-rooted artistic traditions. Each outfit told a story of India’s past, present, and future. Valaya wanted to offer brides and grooms a collection that is both rooted in Indian values and relevant to the modern world.
He carefully designed the outfits to ensure they looked grand but wearable, especially for weddings and special occasions. This thoughtfulness was one of the biggest reasons the collection resonated so strongly with the audience.
A Grand End to a Glorious Week
As the lights dimmed and the models took their final walk, the audience gave a long round of applause. The Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 ended on a high note with Valaya’s East, a show that celebrated 33 years of creativity, passion, and timeless style.
It was more than just a fashion event—it was a moment in time that celebrated Indian culture, beauty, and excellence on a grand stage. The audience left inspired, and the fashion world will be talking about this show for a long time to come.
