The Crown Prince gave a special responsibility to The Executive Council of Dubai to monitor and oversee the measures needed to achieve this important objective. By doing this, the leadership made it clear that community safety is not just the job of Civil Defense alone, but a citywide responsibility.
Warm Welcome and Strategic Briefing
On arrival at the Civil Defense headquarters, Sheikh Hamdan was warmly welcomed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defense, along with senior officers and department directors.
During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed the Strategic Framework and Drivers of a Sustainable Future for the Safety of Life and Property 2033. This plan is designed to ensure Dubai becomes a global leader in civil defense services. It focuses on future-readiness, smart technologies, and sustainable solutions.
Some of the main strategies included:
Using smart sensors to study behavioral patterns.
Building sustainable infrastructure and safety assets.
Raising public awareness and building a safety culture.
This strategy will help Dubai prepare for challenges in the coming decade and beyond.
Praise for Dubai Civil Defense
Sheikh Hamdan praised the Civil Defense for its vital role, noting that it goes far beyond simply responding to emergencies. He said Civil Defense has created a complete system of safety that reflects the leadership’s vision for a safer and more sustainable future.
He highlighted that Civil Defense also works on spreading awareness among people, teaching them how to prevent risks, and making prevention one of the most important pillars of development.
In his words: “The Dubai Civil Defense team has demonstrated exceptional competence and readiness, contributing to making Dubai one of the safest cities in the world and reinforcing its global position in quality of life.”
Commitment to Investment and Development
Sheikh Hamdan made it clear that the leadership is committed to investing continuously in the Civil Defense. This means developing the skills of its people, upgrading its systems, and strengthening its resources.
He stressed that Civil Defense must always remain worthy of the trust placed in it by the community. Dubai wants its Civil Defense to be known not only locally but also globally as a benchmark in quick response, innovative solutions, and protection of lives.
He also emphasized that safeguarding society and preserving resources will always remain a central value of Dubai’s development journey.
Unique Global Initiatives
During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan was shown several innovative and global initiatives launched by Dubai Civil Defense.
1. The ‘Billion Readiness’ Initiative
This ambitious initiative aims to train and spread awareness to one billion people worldwide. The program teaches about the causes and dangers of fires and educates people on how to prevent them.
2. The ‘Hope Convoys’ Initiative
This project is aimed at helping countries with limited resources in their firefighting sector. Through this program, Dubai Civil Defense will:
Build modern fire stations.
Provide advanced firefighting and rescue equipment.
Supply safety gear to firefighters in need.
These initiatives show that Dubai is not only focused on its own safety but also wants to play a positive role globally by supporting others.
Use of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
Another highlight of Sheikh Hamdan’s visit was the presentation of new AI tools and robotic technologies in firefighting and rescue work. These modern innovations are set to make operations faster, safer, and more efficient.
Some of the showcased technologies included:
Explorer Robot: A four-legged robot with LiDAR technology. It can move through smoke and create detailed 3D maps of buildings during emergencies.
Robotic Arm: Designed to increase firefighter efficiency by up to 40%, especially during operations that involve climbing stairs or handling difficult rescue missions.
4500-Wabel Robot: An electric-powered firefighting robot that can carry loads up to 400 kilograms, making it very useful in tough situations.
Shaheen Drone: A special drone built to fight fires in high-rise towers and tall buildings – a critical need for Dubai, known for its skyscrapers.
These technologies highlight Dubai’s vision of blending human skill with advanced technology to make safety systems more reliable.
Gratitude from Dubai Civil Defense
Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defense, expressed deep appreciation to Sheikh Hamdan for his continuous support and guidance. He said that this leadership strengthens the readiness and agility of the Civil Defense team.
