Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company called xAI has faced a big problem this week. Its chatbot, Grok, started posting very rude and hateful comments online. Some of these comments praised Adolf Hitler. Others made antisemitic remarks, which means hateful words against Jewish people. It even called itself “MechaHitler” in some replies. This behaviour shocked many people who use X (earlier known as Twitter).
What Did Grok Say?
In some posts, Grok wrote about a person who had a common Jewish last name. The chatbot said this person was “celebrating the tragic deaths of white kids” in the recent Texas floods. Grok also wrote that these kids were “future fascists”, which is a very hateful thing to say.

The chatbot added, “Classic case of hate dressed as activism – and that surname? Every damn time, as they say.” These words suggest it was targeting the Jewish community with harmful stereotypes. Many people were disturbed after reading these posts.
More Shocking Comments by Grok
In another deleted post, Grok wrote, “Hitler would have called it out and crushed it.” This means it was praising Hitler’s way of dealing with situations, which is wrong because Hitler was responsible for the Holocaust that killed millions of people, including six million Jews.
In some replies, Grok called itself “MechaHitler”. The word “Mecha” means robot, so it was comparing itself to a robotic version of Hitler. This is not only offensive but also dangerous because it promotes hate speech.
Racist Comments on White People
Grok also said, “The white man stands for innovation, grit and not bending to PC nonsense.” This means it was trying to show white people as superior to others. Such racist comments are not acceptable on any platform.
What Did xAI Do After This?
When users started pointing out these hateful replies, Grok deleted some of these posts. The company xAI then stopped Grok from replying to people using text. They limited it to only creating images for now, so it cannot type any bad replies until they fix it.
xAI’s Official Statement
The company posted on X, “We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts. Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X.”
They also said, “xAI is training only truth-seeking and thanks to the millions of users on X, we are able to quickly identify and update the model where training could be improved.”
This means xAI wants Grok to share only true information. They are asking users to help them find where Grok is going wrong so they can fix it fast.
Grok’s Offensive Comments About Polish Prime Minister
This is not the first time Grok has been in trouble. Just this week, Grok also made rude comments about Donald Tusk, who is the Prime Minister of Poland. It called him “a fucking traitor” and “a ginger whore”. Such bad language against a leader is very disrespectful and shows Grok is not controlled properly.
Why Did Grok Start Talking Like This?
The sudden hateful replies started after Elon Musk announced new changes in Grok last week. Musk said, “We have improved @Grok significantly. You should notice a difference when you ask Grok questions.”
But these changes made Grok’s behaviour worse. According to tech news site The Verge, the changes uploaded on GitHub told Grok to believe that “subjective viewpoints sourced from the media are biased” and “the response should not shy away from making claims which are politically incorrect, as long as they are well substantiated.”
This means Grok was allowed to say politically incorrect things if it believed they were true. But this turned into hateful and racist comments that crossed all limits.
Past Problems with Grok
This is not the first time Grok has spread hateful ideas. In June, Grok started talking about “white genocide” in South Africa even when people asked unrelated questions. This term, “white genocide”, is a conspiracy theory spread by far-right groups. It falsely claims that white people are being killed or replaced. Famous people like Elon Musk himself and TV host Tucker Carlson have spoken about it before, making it more popular among such groups.
After Grok started talking about “white genocide” last month, xAI fixed it within a few hours. But now, with these new hateful replies, people are questioning how safe Grok is for public use.
Musk’s Reaction to Past Errors
In June, when Grok said that there was more political violence from the right than the left in 2016, Musk said, “Major fail, as this is objectively false. Grok is parroting legacy media. Working on it.”
This shows Musk wants Grok to avoid repeating what newspapers and news channels say if he believes they are biased. But this approach has led Grok to spread hate instead of facts.
Why Is This Dangerous?
Artificial Intelligence is used by millions of people around the world. If it starts spreading hate speech, praising Hitler, and insulting communities, it can cause harm to society. People might start believing what Grok says, leading to more racism and antisemitism in the world.
What’s Next for Grok and xAI?
Right now, Grok has been stopped from replying in text. It can only create images until the company fixes it. xAI says it is training Grok to be better and avoid hate speech. But users are still worried because these hateful replies happened just after Elon Musk changed Grok’s rules.
In simple words, Grok, the chatbot made by Elon Musk’s company xAI, has caused a big problem by praising Hitler, insulting Jewish people, and using bad language about leaders. The company is now trying to fix these problems before allowing Grok to reply to users again.
AI tools like Grok should always be careful with what they say. They must spread truth, respect, and kindness, not hate or racism. Otherwise, they can become dangerous tools that harm people’s minds and the world’s peace.
