A young golfer from Spain, José Luis Ballester, did something funny during his first game at The Masters golf match in the USA. He peed in a small river called Rae’s Creek on the 13th hole.

Ballester, who is 21 years old, said, “I forgot there were toilets near the place where we start. I really needed to pee. I didn’t know where to go. Since another golfer, Justin Thomas, was busy, I quickly went near the creek. I thought no one would see me. But people saw me and clapped!”
Ballester got into The Masters because he won the U.S. Amateur tournament in 2024. This is one of the biggest golf events in the world. He played his first round with Scottie Scheffler, who won The Masters last year.
But Ballester didn’t play well. He made two mistakes called “bogeys” and one big mistake called a “double bogey” in the first five holes. He finished with a score of 76, which is four shots more than the best score.
At the same time, another golfer, Justin Rose, played really well. He used his golf club for putting very nicely and got a three-shot lead. He is now number one on the list after the first day.
