Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Emirate is set to host its first-ever Fujairah Open I, an ATP Challenger 50 tennis tournament, from 2nd to 15th March 2026.
The two-week event at the Fujairah Tennis and Country Club will mark a major milestone for tennis in the region, offering international competition and world-ranking points to players. The tournament features a 32-player main draw, a 24-player qualifying draw, and a 16-pair doubles draw. Singles finals are scheduled for 8th and 15th March, while doubles finals will take place on 7th and 14th March. Daily matches will begin at 11:00 AM.
The tournament will be supervised by Jiri Adamovsky, ATP Supervisor, ensuring all matches follow ATP rules and standards. A full officiating team, including six chair umpires, three review officials, and support staff, will manage operations. Technical support will be provided by three Bolt6 operators and two Crionet specialists to handle live scoring and review systems.
To ensure smooth operations, a players’ desk will rotate daily for continuous assistance. Reception teams will manage services like stringing, laundry, guidance, and coordination. A dedicated practice desk will support players’ training schedules. The VIP room will serve as the official players’ lounge, and the officials’ office will be located upstairs for convenience. Housekeeping staff will maintain courts and surroundings, while hotel arrangements will be centrally managed to accommodate all participants.
Youth engagement is a priority, with 27 ball kids joining the tournament to assist on-court under professional supervision.
Hosting the Fujairah Open I reflects the emirate’s growing ambition in international tennis. With world-class facilities, dedicated staff, and professional planning, the tournament is set to deliver two weeks of elite tennis, positioning Fujairah as an emerging hub for professional sports in the Middle East.
