A wave of grief swept through Telangana’s political circles after Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao, the father of former Minister and Siddipet BRS MLA T Harish Rao, passed away in Hyderabad early Tuesday due to age-related ailments. The death of Harish Rao’s father has deeply saddened the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) family and leaders across party lines, who expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
According to family sources, Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao, a native of Kothapalli village in Karimnagar district, had been suffering from health issues for some time. The former Minister Harish Rao’s father was known for his simplicity, discipline, and lifelong dedication to community service. His demise has left a void in both his family and his native village, where he was widely respected.
A large number of relatives, friends, and political leaders gathered at Harish Rao’s residence in Kokapet, where the body of Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao was placed for visitors to pay their final respects. Emotional scenes unfolded as supporters and BRS members came to offer condolences. The last rites of Harish Rao’s father will be performed at the Mahaprasthanam crematorium in Film Nagar on Tuesday afternoon, family members confirmed.
Prominent leaders from various parties, including BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR), and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, offered their condolences. KCR, who shared a close bond with Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao, described him as a man of great integrity and affection. He spoke to Harish Rao over the phone immediately after learning of the demise and conveyed his deepest sympathies, praying for peace to the departed soul. He is also expected to visit the family in person to pay his last respects.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended his condolences to Harish Rao and his family, expressing grief over the passing of Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao. “May his soul rest in peace, and may God give strength to the family during this difficult time,” the Chief Minister said.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) personally visited Harish Rao’s residence and paid floral tributes to Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao. As a mark of respect, he announced the cancellation of all BRS programmes and the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign for the day. His gesture reflected the deep sense of loss felt within the BRS party over the death of Harish Rao’s father.
Other political figures, including Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad, Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, D Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and senior BRS leaders Jagadish Reddy, S Niranjan Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and P Sabitha Indra Reddy, also offered their condolences.
In Kothapalli, the native village of Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao, residents remembered him as a humble and kind-hearted individual who was always ready to help others. The death of Harish Rao’s father has cast a shadow of sorrow across the community, with many locals describing him as a pillar of support and guidance.
The BRS MLA Harish Rao, known for his emotional connect with the people of Siddipet, has received an outpouring of sympathy from colleagues, supporters, and citizens across Telangana. Since morning, hundreds of party workers and well-wishers have been visiting his residence to express solidarity and share in the family’s grief.
As Telangana mourns the loss of Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao, tributes continue to pour in from across the state, reflecting the deep respect he earned throughout his life.
