Emirates Airline has recently unveiled its brand-new, state-of-the-art Flight Crew Training Centre in Dubai. This centre represents a major step forward in the airline’s growth and commitment to training the best pilots in the world. The facility is designed to provide training for both current and future pilots on Emirates’ Airbus A350 fleet and its upcoming Boeing 777X aircraft.
Spanning an impressive 63,318 square feet, the centre is purpose-built with modern, high-tech equipment, including six full flight simulator bays. Its location near other Emirates training facilities makes it part of a vibrant aviation hub, aimed at promoting the personal and professional growth of all Emirates employees.

A Visionary Investment for Dubai and Aviation
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, emphasized the importance of the new training centre. He described it as a “gamechanger” for the aviation industry and highlighted its role in Dubai’s growth as a global aviation hub. Sheikh Ahmed shared that every dirham of the AED 500 million investment is already creating value for Emirates and its workforce.
The centre is designed to be world-class, setting new benchmarks in aviation training. It provides innovative and practical learning opportunities for pilots and instructors. The feedback from Emirates pilots and trainers has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the quality and effectiveness of the new facility.
Cutting-Edge Training Technology
The new Emirates Crew Training Centre is equipped with advanced flight simulators that integrate an innovative Pilot Support Station (PSS). This technology, developed entirely in-house, is a first in the aviation industry. It allows pilots to configure their flight decks and build flight plans in a fully immersive environment before their actual simulator sessions.
By streamlining the preparation process, pilots can make the most of their training sessions and improve their learning outcomes. Additionally, all training sessions are fully recorded. This allows instructors to replay any moment, providing detailed performance reviews and helping pilots enhance their skills effectively.
The centre also uses sophisticated 3D printing technology to create complex components and structures needed for training equipment. This advanced capability allows Emirates to save up to AED 1 million annually by producing components in-house rather than outsourcing them.
Simulator Capacity and Expansion
The centre has already started training pilots using two Airbus A350 full flight simulators. Over the next few years, four more simulators, including Boeing 777X simulators, will be added. Each simulator can provide 7,500 hours of training annually, accommodating up to 1,000 pilots every year.
Once all simulators are fully operational, Emirates pilots will have access to a total of 17 simulators, which include 11 simulators for training on A380s and Boeing 777s. This expansion will increase the airline’s overall training capacity by 54%, providing approximately 130,000 training hours each year.
World-Class Simulator Certification
The first A350 full flight simulator at the centre has received a Level D qualification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This is the highest rating possible for a flight simulator. Notably, it is also the first simulator globally to achieve qualification with Airbus A350 Standard 1.3 with zero findings, an exceptionally rare accomplishment.
These advanced simulators ensure that Emirates pilots undergo training that is evidence-based, competency-driven, and robust. They receive guidance from highly skilled instructors and benefit from a learning environment that prioritizes safety, efficiency, and excellence.
Comprehensive Pilot Training Programs
The Emirates Crew Training Centre is not just about simulators. It also houses four spacious classrooms for training programs such as recurrent training, conversion training, and command training. These classrooms allow pilots to receive detailed theoretical and practical knowledge in addition to simulator practice.
Beyond this centre, Emirates provides a wide range of world-class training programs for its employees and aviation professionals. Facilities in Dubai include:
Emirates Flight Training Academy for cadets
Emirates Aviation University
Emirates Cabin Crew Training Centre
Emirates Aviation College
These institutions offer hundreds of specialist courses, technical training, and soft skills programs, ensuring a highly skilled workforce in the aviation sector.
Emirates’ Growth and Pilot Opportunities
Emirates is currently experiencing significant growth and is actively looking for pilots to join its programs. There are three main recruitment pathways:
Direct Entry Captains
Accelerated Command Programme
First Officers (non-type rated)
These programs are open to aspiring pilots who wish to join one of the world’s largest and most profitable international airlines, known for operating the largest fleets of A380s and Boeing 777s. Emirates continues to attract talent globally, providing exceptional career opportunities and growth prospects in the aviation industry.
The opening of the Emirates Crew Training Centre marks a major milestone in the airline’s history. With its cutting-edge technology, innovative simulators, and advanced training programs, the centre not only enhances the skills of Emirates pilots but also strengthens Dubai’s position as a leading global aviation hub.
This investment demonstrates Emirates’ commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation in pilot training. It ensures that pilots are well-prepared to operate the airline’s advanced fleet, while also supporting employees’ career growth and development.
With the new training centre and other aviation programs, Emirates continues to set new benchmarks in the global aviation industry, offering opportunities for pilots and aviation professionals to achieve their highest potential.
