Emirates Islamic has reached a significant milestone in the first nine months of 2025, reporting a record AED 3.2 billion profit before tax. This demonstrates strong growth throughout its banking operations. Total income surged by 9% compared to the previous year, reaching AED 4.5 billion, fueled by higher funded and non-funded income, showcasing the bank’s solid presence in the UAE’s Islamic banking landscape.
Financial Highlights
Customer Financing Growth: Increased by 20% to AED 84.8 billion, reflecting high demand for Sharia-compliant financial solutions.
Customer Deposits: Grew 20% to AED 92.4 billion, with current and savings accounts comprising 70% of total deposits.
Total Assets: Expanded 24% to AED 138 billion, indicating the bank’s strong balance sheet and capital integrity.
Net Profit: Rose 9% to AED 2.7 billion, sustaining a robust net profit margin of 3.64%.
Credit Quality: Maintained high standards with a non-performing financing ratio of 2.8% and a coverage ratio of 152.9%.
Capital Position: CET1 ratio stood at 17.7%, with a capital adequacy ratio of 18.8%, ensuring stability and resilience.
Innovation and Strategic Initiatives
Emirates Islamic is expanding its presence in sustainable finance, having successfully issued a USD 500 million Sustainability-Linked Sukuk, marking a global first. Additionally, the bank secured AED 968 million in strategic financing deals with Taaleem, fostering the UAE’s education sector.
In the realm of real estate, Emirates Islamic facilitated key project financing for The Biltmore Residences in Dubai, aimed at elite and international buyers. The bank has also joined forces with Amazon and Mastercard to introduce the Amazon Emirates Islamic Mastercard Credit Card, offering unique lifestyle perks to customers in the UAE.
Employee and Community Engagement
The bank champions inclusivity within the workplace and fosters employee engagement. It celebrated Emirati Women’s Day with programs designed to empower women entrepreneurs and received honors at the Employee Happiness Awards 2025, affirming its dedication to nurturing talent and promoting an inclusive work environment.
