Emirates SkyCargo Adds Bangkok Freighter to Boost Asian Trade

Dubai: Strengthening its footprint across East and Southeast Asia, Emirates SkyCargo has launched a new weekly freighter service to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). The move aims to provide regional exporters with greater flexibility to move goods worldwide through Dubai, reinforcing the airline’s position as a global logistics leader.

The addition of Bangkok marks another milestone in Emirates SkyCargo’s growing network, which now includes 43 freighter destinations globally—11 of them across East and Southeast Asia. The expansion aligns with Thailand’s ambitious “Thailand 4.0” vision, which promotes innovation and advanced technology sectors such as smart electronics, biotechnology, robotics, and next-generation automotive manufacturing.

With an all-widebody fleet of over 260 aircraft, Emirates SkyCargo is equipped to handle Thailand’s diverse export needs—from precision tech components to garments and perishable items like stone fruits. The freighter connection through Dubai provides seamless access to major international markets across Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The airline’s focus on Asia comes amid booming demand for reliable cargo capacity. Alongside the new Bangkok service, Emirates SkyCargo has also increased its Hanoi operations to four weekly freighters and added a sixth weekly service to Guangzhou, responding to growing exports of consumer electronics, eCommerce goods, and industrial components.

Over the past three decades, Emirates SkyCargo has strategically expanded its reach in the region. Today, it operates 25 gateways across East and Southeast Asia, supported by 45 freighter services, 13 charter operations, and more than 315 passenger flights each week—offering around 21,000 tonnes of cargo capacity.

This latest expansion underlines Emirates SkyCargo’s long-term commitment to Asia’s fast-growing economies and its role as a vital link in global trade logistics.
