Egypt has made a new plan to bring back peace in Gaza, security sources said on Monday. This comes after more fighting started when Israel began air and ground attacks against Hamas last Tuesday. The attacks ended two months of quiet in the area, making the situation worse again.

In Egypt’s plan, Hamas would free five Israeli hostages every week. After the first week, Israel would start the second part of the peace deal. This step-by-step process is meant to slowly bring back peace and trust. The United States and Hamas have agreed to the plan, but Israel has not yet given an answer.
The plan also has a time schedule for all hostages to be freed. In return, Israel must remove its army from Gaza. The United States will make sure both sides follow the plan. The U.S. wants to help keep the promise so that both sides feel safe to follow the deal.
Hamas has said that Israel broke the peace deal made in January. Even though Hamas is angry, it still wants to talk about stopping the fighting. The group is also looking at ideas from U.S. President Donald Trump’s special helper, Steve Witkoff. Talks are still going on, and Israel’s answer will decide if the plan moves forward or if the fighting will continue.
