Dubai Traders Boosts 2,400 SMEs in First Year of D33 Plan

In just 12 months since its launch, Dubai Traders has established itself as a major catalyst for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the city, helping over 2,400 businesses join global e-commerce platforms and reach millions of customers. The programme, part of the ambitious Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, aims to double Dubai’s economy by 2033.

Partnering with major online marketplaces like Amazon and noon, Dubai Traders offers comprehensive onboarding support, licensing guidance, advertising credits, prioritized product placement, and dedicated account management. These measures have allowed local businesses to increase their visibility, adopt fulfilment services, and grow sales rapidly during peak periods.

Over 1,000 existing sellers have also received tailored growth support, while 370 Emirati-owned businesses joined in the first year alone, demonstrating the programme’s focus on empowering local entrepreneurs.

Sellers on noon experienced immediate growth: 42% expanded into new product categories, 63% added new SKUs, and one-third of businesses multiplied their monthly gross merchandise value within a month of joining. More than 300 Emirati businesses also began using noon Minutes, the platform’s quick-delivery service, highlighting a shift towards rapid last-mile delivery readiness.

Amazon sellers saw equally strong results, with 23% of onboarded businesses owned by Emiratis and 35% by women. A third of participating sellers listing over five products reached top sales volumes in their categories, while 15% expanded internationally and another 40% are preparing to sell abroad, reflecting the programme’s success in facilitating cross-border growth.

Looking forward, both Amazon and noon plan to extend account management, expand seller segments, and pilot financial solutions to help micro-enterprises manage cash flow. Training clinics will continue to guide SMEs on logistics, branding, and international expansion, further cementing Dubai Traders as a platform for scalable, sustainable growth.
