The new facility, which will cover around 23,200 square meters, will provide a wide range of services including warehousing, fulfilment, and container freight station operations. The warehousing and fulfilment services will involve inventory management, kitting, labelling, order management, compliance inspections, return programs, transportation management, pick-and-pack services, and quality control. The container freight station will focus on consolidating shipments, providing export services, and handling unit load device breakdowns. The facility is expected to begin operations in February 2025.
Mohsen Ahmad shared his thoughts saying, “We are excited to sign this agreement with Expeditors, a global leader in logistics. The company will benefit from the integrated system at Dubai South, along with our top-notch infrastructure and innovative logistics services. Dubai South is committed to helping Dubai become a global logistics hub, and we are proud to support Expeditors in their growth and expansion in the region.”
Jeffrey Musser, from Expeditors, added, “We are happy to announce this major step in our growth with the new warehouse agreement at Dubai South. This modern facility shows our commitment to meeting the increasing needs of our customers and improving our efficiency. Dubai South’s strategic infrastructure and approach to developing Dubai as a global logistics center make this a key investment. We first came to Dubai more than 25 years ago, and this new facility reinforces our ongoing dedication to providing innovative solutions for the global supply chain.”
Expeditors, a global logistics company based in Bellevue, Washington, operates in 176 district offices and many branches across six continents, all linked by an integrated information system. Its services include air and ocean freight, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, time-definite transportation, order management, warehousing, and distribution.
Dubai South’s Logistics District is known for its top-tier services, operations, and direct access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor. The district includes multiple zones, such as access to cargo terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport, EZDubai (an e-commerce free zone), and the Contract Logistics Zone. This makes it a key location for businesses in the logistics and transportation sectors.
