The conference will also feature tailored programs for students, young scientists, and researchers, offering them a chance to engage with industry leaders and gain valuable insights.
Sultan Al-Taher, Director of the Food Safety Department at Dubai Municipality and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, highlighted the significance of the conference in furthering Dubai’s role in shaping the future of food safety. He emphasized the municipality’s commitment to enhancing food sector sustainability, promoting best practices, and leveraging technological advancements to ensure the safety, sustainability, and nutritional value of food.
Al-Taher explained that the theme ‘Future Foresight in Food Safety’ emphasizes the proactive identification, evaluation, and prioritization of emerging trends and drivers within food systems. This involves utilizing technology tools, data analytics, and horizon scanning to estimate risks and develop policies to address them. The Food Safety Department aims to strengthen future foresight programs through capacity-building initiatives and focused discussions on key drivers, while also identifying best practices from various countries.
The conference is projected to attract over 2,000 participants, including specialists, experts, and representatives from oversight bodies, research centers, and food safety organizations worldwide.
The Dubai International Food Safety Conference has built a strong reputation over its 17-year history as a premier global platform for sharing knowledge and innovations.
