The Dubai Media Council (DMC) recently visited the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Dubai to meet with media students and tell them about a new program called the ‘Emirati Media Talent Pledge.’ This visit shows how much the Council cares about working closely with schools and helping young people who want to build careers in media.
Her Excellency Nehal Badri, the Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, led the visit. She explained that the Council wants to help young Emiratis get the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the media world. The ‘Emirati Media Talent Pledge’ is a special program made to connect what students learn in school with real work in media companies.
Dr. Faisal Al Ayyan, who is the President and CEO of HCT, welcomed the DMC team. He said that the Council is playing an important role in growing Dubai’s media industry. By working with universities and media companies, the Council is helping students get ready for their future jobs.

Dr. Yahya Al Ansaari, the Executive Director of Dubai Campuses at HCT, also praised the collaboration. He said the visit gave students a chance to learn more about the media industry and how to prepare for their careers. The college wants to support students so they can build strong professional connections that match the country’s goals.
During the meeting, which included top HCT leaders and teachers, Nehal Badri talked about the importance of young people in media. She said young Emiratis can tell great stories that show what the UAE is all about and keep up with changes happening around the world.
She also praised HCT’s approach to teaching media. The college’s Digital Media degree program is helping students develop the skills they need to do well in today’s fast-changing media field.
Nehal Badri mentioned that the Dubai Media Council follows the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Chairman of the Council. His Highness wants all Council programs to focus on young people. The ‘Emirati Media Talent Pledge’ was created to help students move smoothly from school to real media jobs.
Saif Al Suwaidi, a Project Manager at the Council, said the pledge program helps find and train talented Emirati students. The program works with universities and media companies across the UAE and other countries to give students practical experience and prepare them well for their careers.
The visit ended with HCT students showing their final projects. They talked about their ideas and what they learned while working on these projects.
The Dubai Media Council team also toured other parts of HCT Dubai, including departments like engineering, computer science, and applied media.
