Dubai Games Day 3: Four Teams Secure Spots in Battle of the Cities Final

Dubai Games 2025, the top community sports event in Dubai, is now in full swing, and day three brought intense competition. The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council, is known for bringing together top talent from around the world.

The Battle of the Cities saw thrilling matches, proving once again why Dubai Games is one of the most exciting sporting events in the region. The competition was fierce, and after an intense round of qualifiers, the Organising Committee announced the four teams that made it to the final. The much-awaited final match will take place on Sunday, 23rd February.

Montreal, Canada, is leading the standings with 151.42 points. Following closely behind is Colorado, USA, which is in second place with 150.51 points. Kazan, Russia, is in third place with 150.22 points, while Saint Petersburg, Russia, took fourth place with 148.42 points. These teams will now prepare for an action-packed final showdown.

Battle of the Community: Strong Performances on Day Three

Apart from the city battles, the first round of the Battle of the Community also took place. This competition featured 28 teams that had already advanced through preliminary rounds held before this year’s edition. The teams showed great teamwork and determination, highlighting the growing interest in community sports and a healthy lifestyle.

Ajman Stud led the rankings with 127.26 points, followed closely by Block 20 x Empire, which came second with 127.01 points. Esaad took third place with 126.07 points, and Ajman Team secured fourth with 125.84 points.

Dubai Games is now in its sixth edition and is currently taking place at Dubai Festival City until 23rd February. The event has drawn a record-breaking 244 teams from around the world. DP World is the official partner, with DAMAC Group and Emarat serving as diamond sponsors. The tournament is organized in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council.

Officials Share Their Views on Dubai Games’ Growing Impact

Mansoor Al Mehairi, Head of Community Teams’ Registration, highlighted the success of the Battle of the Community. He emphasized how the increasing participation reflects the tournament’s role in encouraging people to engage in sports and fitness. He praised the teams for their dedication and sportsmanship, saying that beyond just competition, the Dubai Games promotes teamwork and community spirit.

Samah El Manzalawy, Head of Brand Identity and Marketing for Dubai Games 2025, shared how the tournament has grown since its launch in 2018. What started as a local championship has now become a globally recognized event. Thanks to strong marketing efforts, media collaborations, and international partnerships, Dubai Games continues to gain popularity on the world stage.

DP World’s CEO and Managing Director for the GCC, Abdulla bin Damithan, expressed his pride in partnering with Dubai Games. He highlighted how the event represents teamwork, resilience, and pushing beyond limits—values that align with DP World’s core mission.

Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, spoke about the company’s commitment to fostering community spirit and promoting excellence. He praised the Dubai Games for bringing people together and giving athletes a platform to showcase their skills. With 2025 being the Year of Community, he noted that the event plays a key role in strengthening connections among participants.

Manea Juma Salem Alkendi, a member of DEWA’s Sports Committee, emphasized that Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has been involved in Dubai Games for six consecutive years. He spoke about the importance of sports in building strong relationships between government and private entities and how the event helps develop both physical and mental strength among participants.

Sponsors and Partners Strengthen Dubai Games’ Success

Ali Al Qaizi, Executive Director of Ahska (C4), described Dubai Games 2025 as a platform that strengthens strategic partnerships and promotes innovation in sports and entertainment. He pointed out how the tournament encourages a healthier lifestyle while fostering a competitive yet constructive environment.

Safeya Al Maqtari, CEO of Dubai and Northern Emirates in M42, discussed the company’s commitment to promoting health and wellness through the Dubai Games. M42, alongside Mubadala Health Dubai and Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital, is supporting the tournament by offering preventive health screenings at the event.

Hayssam Hajjar, Asset Management Director at Al-Futtaim Real Estate, talked about how Dubai Festival City Mall has been a proud venue partner since 2024. He stated that the mall is committed to supporting large-scale events that bring people together in an active and engaging way.

Dubai Games 2025: Bigger and Better Than Ever

Now in its sixth edition, Dubai Games continues to attract strong support from both the public and private sectors. This year, DP World is the official partner, while DAMAC Group and Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) are the diamond sponsors. Gold sponsors include DEWA, First Abu Dhabi Bank, and M42, while C4 is the bronze sponsor. Dubai Festival City is the official venue partner, and Al Futtaim Automotive is a supporting partner. Additionally, du is the telecommunication partner, with Dubai Media Incorporated and Arabian Radio Network serving as media partners. Other sponsors include Adidas, Viya, and Mai Dubai.

Dubai Games 2025 features competitions across various categories. This year, there are 84 teams in the Battle of the Government – Men, 26 teams in the Battle of the Government – Women, 28 teams in the Battle of the Community, and 50 teams in the Battle of the Cities. Earlier this month, 56 teams participated in the Battle of Juniors, which was held at DAMAC Hills on 8th February.

The tournament is running from 20th to 23rd February at Dubai Festival City, with a total prize pool of over AED 3.1 million.
