For the 14th time and fifth consecutive year, dnata has been named Ground Support Services Provider of the Year at the 2024 Aviation Business Middle East Awards. The prestigious award was accepted by Jaffar Dawood, dnata’s Divisional Senior Vice President (DSVP) for UAE Airport Operations. In his acceptance speech, Jaffar Dawood emphasized the company’s continued dedication to excellence and innovation, saying, “Receiving this distinguished regional award for the 14th time highlights our unwavering commitment to service excellence, and our ongoing investments in our people, infrastructure, and the latest technologies. A sincere thank you to our entire team for their exceptional efforts in achieving this recognition. We will continue to go above and beyond to deliver the promises we make to our customers, supporting Dubai’s success and growth as a thriving global aviation hub.”
Throughout the past year, dnata has consistently invested in cutting-edge technologies to improve its operations across its global network. The company made significant strides in automation and AI, successfully integrating autonomous drones into its ground handling operations in the UAE. Additionally, dnata implemented AI-powered solutions in Singapore to enhance operational efficiency and customer service. The company has also expanded the rollout of its advanced cargo management system, One Cargo, globally, enabling smoother and more efficient cargo handling worldwide. In addition to its technological advancements, dnata has maintained a strong focus on sustainability and environmental efficiency. As part of its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, the company’s efforts to invest in renewable energy, electric equipment, and process improvements have yielded significant results. The carbon intensity, measured in kilograms of CO₂ equivalent emissions per aircraft turnaround, decreased by over 8% in the financial year 2023-24 across its ground handling and cargo operations. Notably, dnata has made major progress in transitioning its fleet at the two main Dubai airports—Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum-Dubai World Central (DWC)—to more sustainable operations by converting its entire non-electric fleet to biodiesel.
dnata’s continued growth and success are also reflected in its impressive operational scale. The company is a leading global air and travel services provider, employing 28,000 people in Dubai alone. In 2024, dnata assisted more than 91.8 million passengers across the two Dubai airports, marking a 5% growth year-over-year. The company’s dedication to customer satisfaction extends to its airport hospitality brand, marhaba, which has seen considerable growth in recent years. Marhaba’s customer-oriented team has enhanced the journey of over 2.9 million travelers to date. In 2024, dnata welcomed eight new airlines to its portfolio, bringing the total number of airlines served at Dubai airports to 175.
Through its continued investment in innovation, sustainability, and customer service, dnata remains at the forefront of the global air services industry, further cementing its position as a key player in the aviation sector.
