Abu Dhabi — Under the esteemed patronage of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed graced the 2025 graduation ceremony of Khalifa University, held at ADNEC Centre. The ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of 163 doctoral graduates whose research spans areas crucial to the UAE’s national ambitions.
The Crown Prince praised the graduates as the “future leaders” of the nation, reiterating that their success reflects the UAE’s investment in nurturing national talent across vital sectors—including energy, artificial intelligence, healthcare, cybersecurity, aerospace, and climate resilience.
Among the doctoral projects recognized were cutting-edge research into sustainable energy solutions, innovative AI-powered healthcare applications, next-gen space technologies, and advanced cybersecurity systems. The Crown Prince emphasized that such research is not just academic—it is a practical engine for the nation’s economic growth and global competitiveness.

Hosted in Abu Dhabi’s premier convention venue, the ADNEC Centre, the event featured faculty from more than 70 countries, showcasing the university’s global profile. National anthems were followed by remarks from University President Prof. Ebrahim Al Hajri and other dignitaries, who lauded the high calibre of research and community contributions made by the graduates.
A highlight of the ceremony was when each graduate, dressed in traditional academic regalia, crossed the stage to receive their doctorate scroll from the Crown Prince himself—a moment that drew applause from family, peers, and Emirati officials alike.
In his address, Sheikh Khaled highlighted the university’s role not merely as a learning institution but as a hub for innovation and enterprise—an incubator for solutions that can propel the UAE’s vision for diversification, sustainability, and technological leadership.
Beyond academic achievement, the Crown Prince stressed the importance of character, ethics, and civic responsibility. He encouraged the new doctors to use their knowledge “to uplift the community and address real-world challenges.”
The event drew broad attendance from government ministers, industry leaders, academic figures, diplomats, families of graduates, and international guests—underlining Khalifa University’s position as a centre of excellence and partnership.
For many graduates, the ceremony marks a milestone in a journey rooted in national service and global ambition. One graduate shared: “This day represents our dedication to building a brighter future for the UAE.”
By honoring high-achieving doctoral scholars, the UAE demonstrates its determination to invest in education and research—foundations for a future economy not dependent on hydrocarbons, but driven by knowledge, innovation, and human capital.
The ceremony concluded with a reception where guests mingled with faculty and students. Discussions centered on collaboration opportunities, prospects for national research institutions, and the role of graduates in advancing the UAE’s position as a global hub for science and technology.
As the Crown Prince departed ADNEC, he conveyed a final message to the graduates: "Carry forward this spirit of excellence, and let your work serve the nation and humanity."
