Portugal’s captain Cristiano Ronaldo was full of emotion as he celebrated winning the Nations League for the second time. The victory came after a tough final against Spain that ended 2-2 and was decided by penalties. Ronaldo scored his 138th goal for Portugal during the game, which helped push the match into a shootout. Though he was substituted and watched from the sidelines, he saw his team score all five penalty shots to win the title.
This win is very special for Ronaldo. It is the third major trophy he has won with Portugal, following their European Championship win in 2016 and the first Nations League title in 2019. The five-time Champions League winner was moved to tears by the achievement.
Speaking after the match, Ronaldo shared his feelings with Sport TV. He said this win was not just for him but for the whole team, this generation of players, and their families. He was proud to have his children, wife, brother, and friends there to witness the moment.

Ronaldo said winning for Portugal is always the most important thing. He explained that while he has won many trophies with his clubs, nothing compares to the joy of winning for his country. He called it a proud duty and said it brought him a lot of happiness.
Being captain of the national team means a lot to Ronaldo. He said winning a title with your country is the highest achievement for any player representing their nation.
As for his future, Ronaldo’s plans are still unclear. He recently said he does not intend to play in the Club World Cup in the United States later this month, even though several clubs in the tournament have shown interest in signing him. Ronaldo’s current club, Al Nassr, is talking to him about extending his contract, but other teams are also eager to bring him in.
Despite carrying an injury during the final, Ronaldo gave his best. He admitted he felt the pain even during the warmup, but said he would have done anything for the national team, even if it meant breaking a bone. He pushed himself because playing for Portugal means everything to him.
Ronaldo also spoke about the ambition of the Portuguese people. He said that although Portugal is a small country, their desire to win is very big. Now, he plans to rest and recover, but for this moment, he is just happy to have helped his country win another big trophy.
