Australia PM Anthony Albanese Falls Off Stage, Says He’s Fine

Australia’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, had a small fall during an event on Thursday but quickly stood up and said he was fine. The accident happened at a meeting in New South Wales, where he was speaking to workers from the Mining and Energy Union.

After finishing his speech, the 62-year-old leader of the Labor Party stayed on stage to take photos. While stepping back, he lost his balance and slipped off the stage. The crowd gasped as they saw him fall. But within seconds, he got up, smiled, and raised both hands to show he was okay.

A video of the moment showed him missing a step and going down. Later, in a radio interview, he said, “I just took one step back. I didn’t fall off fully... only one leg slipped, but I’m fine.”

Albanese is now busy with his election campaign for the national vote on May 3. His party is in a close contest with the Liberal-National team, led by Peter Dutton. Recent surveys show both parties are equally strong, making each event important.

Even after his small fall, Albanese continued his campaign with energy. His quick recovery showed that he is still focused and ready to lead.
