Dubai continues to strengthen its role as one of the world’s most important business hubs. According to the Dubai International Chamber, more and more companies are choosing the city as their base for growth and expansion. The chamber, which works under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, revealed that the first half of 2025 was a historic period. Not only did Dubai welcome multinational companies (MNCs) from around the world, but it also saw a sharp rise in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) choosing the city.

The results highlight Dubai’s growing reputation as a gateway for international trade, investment, and business opportunities. Let us understand these figures in detail and why they are so important for the city’s economy.

Strong Growth in Multinational Companies (MNCs)

Between January and June 2025, the chamber successfully attracted several multinational companies to set up operations in Dubai. Out of all the MNCs that came:

  • 58% were from Asia, showing how strongly Asian businesses trust Dubai as their regional and global hub.

  • Europe ranked second with 16.1% of the total companies.

  • The Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) accounted for 12.9%.

  • Africa and the Americas each represented 6.5%.

This data clearly shows that Dubai is not only appealing to its neighboring regions but is also seen as a global destination by businesses from every continent.

Rising Popularity Among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

It is not only big multinational corporations that are setting up in Dubai. The city is also becoming a major magnet for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These businesses form the backbone of most economies and play an important role in job creation and innovation.

During the same six-month period of 2025:

  • Asia again topped the list, with 49.1% of SMEs choosing Dubai.

  • The Middle East and CIS showed notable growth with 22.3% of the SMEs.

  • Africa accounted for 11.6%.

  • Europe came next with 9.8%.

  • The Americas made up 7.1%.

This wide range of representation proves that companies of all sizes, from all corners of the world, see Dubai as a safe and profitable place to grow their businesses.

Record Growth in Just One Year

One of the most remarkable achievements of the Dubai International Chamber was the 138% year-on-year growth in the number of companies it attracted during the first half of 2025. This means that compared to the same time last year, the chamber was able to bring in more than double the number of firms this year.

Such impressive growth shows that Dubai’s economy is not only stable but also expanding at a rapid pace. The city’s leaders have been focusing on policies that make it easier for foreign companies to enter and operate in Dubai.

Why Companies Choose Dubai

So, what makes Dubai such an attractive place for international businesses? There are several key reasons:

1. Strategic Location

Dubai is located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. This unique position makes it a natural hub for global trade, allowing companies to easily connect with markets across three continents.

2. World-Class Infrastructure

From modern airports to seaports and logistics facilities, Dubai has built one of the best infrastructures in the world. This helps businesses move goods and services quickly and efficiently.

3. Business-Friendly Policies

The government of Dubai has worked hard to create an environment where businesses can thrive. This includes tax benefits, free zones, and simplified rules for setting up and running companies.

4. Diverse Economy

Dubai is no longer dependent on oil. The city has successfully developed strong sectors in trade, tourism, finance, technology, and real estate. This diversity makes the economy more stable and welcoming for all kinds of businesses.

5. Safe and Stable Environment

Global companies look for countries and cities that are safe, politically stable, and supportive of growth. Dubai provides exactly that.

Asia’s Strong Presence in Dubai

The report clearly highlights that Asian companies dominate the new arrivals in Dubai, both among MNCs and SMEs. Asia’s fast-growing economies, such as India, China, Japan, and South Korea, see Dubai as their main entry point into the Middle East, Africa, and even Europe.

Many Asian companies use Dubai not just as a business location but as a launchpad for global expansion. This also reflects the close economic ties between Dubai and Asian markets.

Europe and CIS Remain Strong Partners

Europe’s position as the second-largest source of MNCs shows the continued trust European firms have in Dubai. Meanwhile, the growing contribution of the CIS region is also worth noting, as companies from Russia, Central Asia, and neighboring countries are turning towards Dubai for investment and business opportunities.

Africa and the Americas See Steady Growth

Though Africa and the Americas currently account for a smaller share, their presence is significant. Dubai is working hard to build trade bridges with African nations, and American firms continue to see the city as a smart location to manage their operations across the Middle East and beyond.

What This Means for Dubai’s Future

The numbers released by the Dubai International Chamber show more than just statistics. They tell the story of a city that is becoming a true global business capital.

  • More companies mean more jobs for residents and expatriates.

  • Increased investment means better economic growth and opportunities.

  • The diversity of companies from across the globe strengthens Dubai’s position as a meeting point for cultures, ideas, and innovation.

Dubai’s Global Vision

The leadership of Dubai has always focused on building a city that looks beyond borders. With strong economic strategies, world-class infrastructure, and a welcoming environment for businesses of all sizes, Dubai is proving itself as a city of the future.

The latest report by Dubai International Chamber is not just about the number of companies arriving; it is a reflection of the city’s long-term vision to remain one of the top business destinations in the world.

In the first half of 2025, Dubai achieved remarkable success by attracting multinational companies and SMEs from across the globe. With Asia leading the way, followed by Europe, the Middle East, CIS, Africa, and the Americas, the city proved its unmatched appeal as a business hub.

The 138% growth in just one year is a clear sign that Dubai’s economy is on the rise and that its efforts to welcome international firms are working effectively.

As more businesses continue to choose Dubai as their base, the city is expected to grow stronger, creating new opportunities not just for companies but also for the people living and working there.

Dubai’s story is one of vision, determination, and success — and these latest numbers only add another shining chapter to its journey as a global investment hub.
