Ajman Chamber launches Eco Smart Industry initiative

The Ajman Chamber has organised a forum titled “Sustainability in the Industrial Sector” to mark the launch of the first phase of the Eco Smart Industry initiative. The event focused on sharing best practices in resource conservation, consumption optimisation and recycling, while highlighting efforts to support sustainable industrial growth.

The forum was attended by senior officials, including Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Affairs, and Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication, along with representatives from more than 20 factories operating in Ajman.

During the session, Mariam Al Nuaimi, Initiative Manager and Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the Ajman Chamber, outlined the mechanism for factory participation in the initiative. She detailed the registration process for the first phase, criteria for environmental readiness assessments, and the tools designed to monitor sustainability performance, energy use and resource efficiency.

She noted that the initiative aims to create an interactive platform for sharing expertise, presenting successful industrial practices and encouraging the exchange of ideas among participating facilities. This, she said, will help develop practical solutions and strengthen a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement.

The forum also marked the official start of factory registrations for the initiative’s first phase, reflecting growing interest among industrial stakeholders in adopting sustainable production methods.

Participants shared case studies on improving energy efficiency, managing resources effectively and reducing emissions. These examples demonstrated how sustainable practices can enhance operational performance while lowering costs.

Attendees described the forum as a valuable platform for collaboration, offering opportunities to build partnerships and promote knowledge exchange in industrial sustainability and recycling.
