Air India Express, one of India’s popular low-cost airlines, has announced a special ‘Freedom Sale’ to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day. This big sale offers 5 million seats on flights across India and to many international destinations at very low prices. It is a great chance for travelers to book tickets at cheaper rates and travel during India’s busy festive seasons later this year and early next year.
Booking period: August 10 to August 15, 2025
Travel period: August 19, 2025, to March 31, 2026
Passengers can book tickets either through Air India Express’s official website and mobile app, or from August 11, also on popular travel websites and platforms.
The travel period includes some of the biggest festivals in India, such as:
Onam (a major festival in Kerala)
Durga Puja (celebrated especially in West Bengal and other eastern states)
Deepawali (Diwali), the festival of lights celebrated all over India
Christmas and New Year celebrations
During these times, many people travel to their hometowns or holiday destinations to celebrate with family and friends. Airlines often see high demand for tickets during these months.
The fares start from very affordable rates:
Domestic flights begin at ₹1,279 (approximately 1,280 Indian Rupees)
International flights start at ₹4,279
These prices make air travel more accessible to more people, especially those who want to travel during festival seasons but worry about high costs.
Air India Express is known for connecting important cities in India with each other and with international locations, especially the Middle East. This airline plays a big role for millions of Indians working abroad, particularly in Gulf countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar.
The airline operates a fleet of 116 aircraft
It runs over 500 flights daily
It flies to 38 domestic destinations and 17 international destinations
By linking big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore with smaller cities and new travel hubs, Air India Express helps people travel more easily and quickly.
This special sale celebrates India’s 79 years of independence and aims to make air travel more affordable and open to everyone. The airline sees this as a way to promote freedom in travel — the freedom to explore, visit family, or simply move around the country and beyond without worrying about high costs.
From August 10, 2025, tickets can be booked only on the Air India Express website and mobile app.
From August 11 to August 15, tickets will also be available on all major travel booking websites, such as MakeMyTrip, Cleartrip, Yatra, and others.
Travelers are advised to book early because such sales tend to sell out quickly.
The sale covers both one-way and return flights.
The discounted seats are limited, so not all flights or dates may have low fares.
Passengers should check the terms and conditions for cancellations, changes, and refunds.
It’s a good idea to compare prices on different platforms during the sale period to find the best deals.
This ‘Freedom Sale’ by Air India Express is an excellent opportunity for people planning to travel for festivals, holidays, or work in the coming months. With fares starting at just over ₹1,200 for domestic routes and under ₹4,300 for international routes, many travelers can save money while enjoying convenient flights.
Whether you want to visit family during Durga Puja, celebrate Deepawali with friends, or simply explore new places, this sale makes it easier for everyone to fly without breaking the bank.
Keep in mind that the booking window closes on August 15, 2025, so plan and book your tickets soon!
