In Abu Dhabi, the Department of Community Development, Family Development Foundation (FDF), and Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC) are working together to help families stay close. They have launched a new service under the Barakatna initiative. This service gives special housing grants to families so that parents and their main caregivers can live near each other. The main goal is to make family bonds stronger and keep communities united.

Her Excellency Wafa Mohammed Al Ali, who is the Director of the Family Development Department at FDF, said that the foundation wants to provide the best services for older people. She said that when parents and children live closer, it makes them happier and more active with their families and community.

She also explained how to apply for this grant. People can log in securely to the TAMM platform using their digital ID. First, they need to submit an application. After that, they will get a confirmation message. Then, FDF will arrange a home visit to check their situation. After this visit, the applicant will get another message to confirm their appointment. Once the special team finishes checking everything, a notification will come to confirm if one of the parents is approved as a dependant who needs care.

Her Excellency also said that FDF can confirm if someone is the main caregiver for their parent. But getting this confirmation is not required to get the housing grant. The main purpose is to help parents and children live closer together.

She added that the whole application process will take about 30 working days. She also reminded that the seller must tell the buyer to accept the first sale approval message from the TAMM platform. Only after that will the application be sent to FDF to complete the social assessment.

Rashed Al Omaira, who is the Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre, said that ADREC is happy to manage this new service. He said their team wants to make everything easy, fast, and convenient for people. They will handle every part of the process, from receiving applications, checking them carefully, working with other departments, and finishing the transaction. They will make sure everything is done correctly under Abu Dhabi’s rules and laws.

He also said that they are proud to be part of the Barakatna initiative. The housing grant will improve the lives of older people by giving them homes that suit their needs. ADREC will use smart digital solutions to make the service quick and smooth. They will work with FDF and other partners to make sure parents and families feel comfortable and safe. This also shows their role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s real estate growth in a strong and caring way.
