Abu Dhabi, Stellantis team up to power auto innovation

Abu Dhabi has taken a major step towards becoming a global automotive powerhouse, signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Stellantis—one of the world’s largest carmakers—alongside the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and AD Ports Group.

The new partnership will pave the way for an integrated automotive ecosystem designed to accelerate the emirate’s industrial growth, strengthen supply chains, and position Abu Dhabi as a strategic hub for exports, advanced mobility technologies, and sustainable vehicle innovation.

As part of the agreement, Stellantis will collaborate with ADIO on developing investment opportunities within Abu Dhabi’s growing automotive sector. The focus will be on scaling operations across the Middle East and Africa, enhancing R&D for next-generation mobility, and fostering an ecosystem for autonomous and electric vehicle solutions.

Leveraging AD Ports Group’s world-class logistics infrastructure and global trade network, the initiative will also support local manufacturers, streamline distribution, and connect Abu Dhabi’s automotive capabilities with emerging international markets.

The collaboration builds on ADIO’s Automotive Sector Programme launched earlier this year under the “Make it in the Emirates” campaign. The programme aims to develop a complete value chain—from R&D and production to export and vehicle auctions—cementing the emirate’s status as a centre for innovation-driven manufacturing.

With strategic alignment between global industry expertise and Abu Dhabi’s ambitious vision, the emirate is fast steering towards a future where it serves as a driving force for the region’s automotive transformation.
