Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, the 8th edition of the Dubai International Baja will take place from November 28 to December 1, 2024. This year’s event celebrates a remarkable 45-year legacy, tracing its origins back to the Dubai Rally of 1979, which laid the foundation for one of the UAE's most iconic motorsport events.

The Dubai International Baja, recognized as one of the oldest motorsport events in the region, has become an essential fixture on the international off-road racing calendar. Organized by the Emirates Motorsport Organization (EMSO) in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, the event enjoys the support of several Dubai Government entities, including the Dubai Police, Roads and Transport Authority, and Dubai Municipality. The event is set to deliver an unforgettable experience for both competitors and spectators from around the world.
As a key global motorsport event, the Dubai International Baja serves as the final round of two prestigious championships: the FIA World Baja Cup for cars and the FIM Bajas World Cup for motorcycles and quads. The registration deadline was 15 November, and Dubai is prepared to welcome top-tier Baja competitors from across the globe, who will vie for the coveted championship titles in a highly anticipated conclusion to the 2024 racing season.
The Dubai International Baja has firmly positioned itself as a premier host in the Bajas World Cup series, bringing together some of the best athletes from the region and internationally. Mohammad Khamis Al Muhairi, Vice President of EMSO and the UAE Sports Executive Committee, expressed his excitement about the event's return: “The Dubai International Baja has grown to become a cornerstone of the Bajas World Cup, and we are delighted to host yet another thrilling season finale here in the UAE. We look forward to crowning the 2024 champions in Dubai next month.”
Al Muhairi also extended his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed for his unwavering support of the event, highlighting how the patronage underscores Dubai’s leadership in motorsports. “His Highness’s involvement reinforces the importance of this event, placing it among the most significant global motorsport highlights. The collaboration with Dubai Government entities, alongside FIA and FIM, ensures that the Dubai International Baja upholds the highest organizational and safety standards for both participants and fans,” he said.
This year’s edition of the Dubai International Baja introduces a new feature—a prologue in Hatta. For the first time, the event will span four days, offering an enhanced experience for both competitors and the public. The prologue, scheduled for November 29, will take place in the picturesque Hatta mountains, showcasing the stunning natural beauty of Dubai. This exciting new addition to the event will be open to the public at no charge and will be broadcast live, offering a unique opportunity for viewers worldwide to appreciate Dubai’s diverse landscapes.
In addition to the new prologue, the event will return to Dubai Festival City, a location that allows the local community to engage with the event in a dynamic and accessible way. Al Muhairi noted that the introduction of the Hatta prologue would further elevate the rally, adding to the event’s allure and reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a hub of innovation and excellence in motorsports. “We are confident that this addition will captivate audiences and enhance the rally’s appeal,” he said.
The Dubai International Baja 2024 is set to be an exhilarating display of talent, speed, and resilience, paying tribute to the UAE’s rich motorsport heritage. The event is supported by Official Automotive Partner Al-Futtaim Toyota, Energy Partner ENOC, and various Dubai Government entities, ensuring a world-class experience for all involved. More than just a race, the Dubai International Baja is a celebration of community, tradition, and the enduring spirit of competition.
