In a bid to strengthen the digital capabilities of the UAE, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy launched the 'Create Apps in Dubai' initiative. This ambitious program aims to enhance the nation's digital landscape by training Emiratis in the art of app development. During the first quarter of 2024, the initiative made significant strides, with 200 Emiratis successfully completing app development training.
The 'Create Apps in Dubai' initiative sets a lofty target of training 1,000 Emiratis and tripling the number of app developers in Dubai by 2025. Spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, this initiative reflects the government's commitment to fostering innovation and empowering local talent in the digital sphere.

Since its launch at the end of the previous year, the 'Create Apps in Dubai' program has garnered attention and participation from aspiring developers across the UAE. It provides a comprehensive platform for Emiratis to acquire essential skills in app development, thereby equipping them to contribute to the nation's digital economy.
Another noteworthy development in the first quarter of 2024 was the 'App Olympics' competition, a key component of the 'Create Apps in Dubai' initiative. This competition attracted 1,100 participants, further highlighting the growing interest and enthusiasm for app development within the UAE.
