A two-year-old boy from Pakistan sadly passed away after he drowned in a bucket of water at his home in the Sedroh area of Old Ras Al Khaimah on Friday afternoon.
The boy, named Abdullah Mohammed Mohammed Ali, had climbed into a large bucket that was used by the family to wash clothes. It was kept in the kitchen. When no one noticed, he slipped inside and drowned. His family quickly took him to Saqr Government Hospital. The doctors tried hard to save him by giving him CPR, but it was too late. They said he had already suffered brain damage.
The police looked into the case and confirmed that it was a very unfortunate accident. They said there was no foul play involved.

The boy’s father, Mohammed Mohammed Ali, told and shared that the accident happened during Friday prayers. He was at the mosque, and his wife was busy cooking lunch and doing housework. During that time, little Abdullah walked into the kitchen alone and found the bucket.
The father, heartbroken by the tragedy, said that the entire family—both in the UAE and back in Pakistan—was deeply shocked and in pain. Abdullah was the youngest child in the family. He had four older siblings: three brothers aged 15, 12, and 10, and a sister who is 7 years old.
After the incident, the hospital returned Abdullah’s body to the family so they could bury him.
Authorities in Ras Al Khaimah are now reminding all parents to be extra careful with young children at home. They are asking families to make sure that dangerous items like buckets filled with water are kept out of children’s reach to prevent such heartbreaking accidents.
