Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested 51 beggars as part of their campaign called “Combat Begging and Help Those in Need.” The campaign was launched by the Media and Public Relations Department in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Since the start of Ramadan, authorities have caught 34 men and 17 women involved in begging. The police explained that while Ramadan is a time for kindness and giving, some people take advantage of it. They warned that these individuals often play on people’s emotions to get money.

Officials urged residents to be careful and donate only through official charities and trusted organizations. This way, their help will reach those who genuinely need it, rather than falling into the hands of scammers.
The campaign also aims to teach people how to spot fake beggars. Police said that begging not only gives a bad image of the country but is sometimes linked to crimes. These may include theft and the exploitation of vulnerable people.
Ras Al Khaimah Police encouraged the public to report any beggars they see by calling 901. They reminded people that giving through proper channels is the best way to help those in need.
