Yash Dayal, a fast bowler playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is facing serious legal trouble. He has been accused of raping a teenager, and a formal police complaint (FIR) has been registered against him in Jaipur. The police have also invoked the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which is applied in cases involving crimes against minors.

This is not the only allegation against Yash Dayal. Earlier this year, another woman accused him of similar crimes, and that case is still going through the courts. This detailed report explains all the details of both cases in simple language so everyone can understand what is happening.

The Jaipur Rape Allegation: What Happened?

The Victim’s Story

According to police reports and the complaint, the teenager who filed the case is a girl from Jaipur. She says that she first met Yash Dayal during an IPL match in the city, when she was only 17 years old. At that time, Dayal promised to help her with her cricket career and gave her advice about playing professionally. She said she trusted him because of his experience as a cricketer.

The girl claims that during IPL 2025 in Jaipur, Yash Dayal invited her to a hotel in Sitapura, a popular area in the city. She says he invited her there under the pretext of discussing her cricket ambitions. The girl alleges that at the hotel, Dayal raped her for the first time.

She further claims that this was not a one-time incident. According to her, Dayal continued to contact her over the next two years and allegedly raped her several more times. She accuses him of emotionally blackmailing her – saying that he would ruin her chances in cricket if she refused, but would help her if she agreed.

The Police Case

The police at Sanganer Police Station in Jaipur have registered the case under the POCSO Act. This law is used in India to protect minors from sexual crimes, and it is very strict. If a person is found guilty under this act, they can face a minimum sentence of 10 years in jail, which can go up to life imprisonment, along with a fine.

The police are investigating the claims. They have spoken to both the victim and witnesses, and are looking into other evidence such as hotel records and mobile messages. The investigation is ongoing as of July 2025.

Yash Dayal’s Previous Harassment Case

The Ghaziabad Complaint

Earlier in July 2025, Yash Dayal was named in another serious case. A woman in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, accused him of sexual harassment and exploitation. She said that she was in a relationship with Dayal for five years. During this period, she claims Dayal mentally, physically, and financially exploited her. According to her, Dayal promised to marry her, but never kept this promise. She also alleged that Dayal took money from her and even introduced her to his family, making her believe the marriage would happen.

The woman filed her complaint at Indirapuram Police Station after first reporting the matter on the Chief Minister’s grievance portal. After a preliminary investigation, the police booked Dayal under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with sexual acts committed on the basis of false promises of marriage or employment.

Dayal’s Response

In response to these allegations, Yash Dayal lodged his own report through his lawyer at a police station in Prayagraj. In his statement, Dayal said that the woman was blackmailing him and that their interaction was only platonic in nature at first. He claimed that she tried to force him into marriage against his will, and when he refused, she registered the case to settle scores.

Allahabad High Court’s Interim Order

The matter went to the Allahabad High Court in Uttar Pradesh. The court, after reviewing the complaint and Dayal’s response, decided to put a temporary stay on his arrest. The judges, Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar, said that since the relationship lasted five years, it would need more investigation to decide whether there was ever a promise of marriage from Dayal. The court asked both Dayal and the woman to share more evidence and set another hearing date for full arguments.

What Is the POCSO Act?

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act is a special law in India to protect children (below 18 years) from sexual harassment, assault, and pornography. The law makes reporting of such crimes compulsory, giving children and their families a strong way to seek justice. Conviction under POCSO is very serious and leads to long prison terms and heavy fines.

Where Do The Cases Stand Now?

  • Jaipur Case: As of July 2025, Yash Dayal is under police investigation following the FIR registered at the Sanganer Police Station. The charges are severe since the case was filed under the POCSO Act. The police will examine all the evidence collected to see whether the law was broken and to make their final report.

  • Ghaziabad Case: The Allahabad High Court has stayed Yash Dayal’s arrest while both sides present more facts. This means Dayal cannot be arrested until the court decides after hearing the full matter. The case is not closed and can proceed for months or even years before a final verdict.

What Happens Next?

In both cases, the police and courts will go through the evidence in detail. They will talk to witnesses, check records, and examine all testimonies to make sure the truth comes out. If Yash Dayal is found guilty in either case, he could face long years in prison and could lose his cricketing career. If the allegations are found to be untrue, he will be set free of any charges. The law and the courts are expected to look at all facts before making any final decision.

Impact on Cricket Career

Yash Dayal is currently a recognized cricketer. During IPL 2025, he played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and was part of the team when they won their first IPL trophy. He took 13 wickets in that tournament, showing good performance on the field. However, with these allegations and court cases, his cricket future hangs in the balance as the legal process takes its course.

Both these legal cases against Yash Dayal are very serious. They highlight the importance of following the law and how important it is to make sure justice is done for both the accused and the accuser. The next few months will be crucial for everyone involved, including the cricket community, as the truth comes out through legal processes.
