Grey hair has a natural beauty of its own. It looks elegant, confident, and stylish. But during winter, grey hair often becomes dry, rough, and frizzy because of the cold air and low moisture in the environment. Since grey strands already have less natural oil than darker hair, the winter season can make them even more fragile.
The good thing is that winter hair care does not have to be complicated. With a few gentle steps and a regular routine, you can keep your grey hair soft, smooth, and healthy throughout the cold months. There is no need for expensive treatments — just consistent care.
Below is an easy winter routine anyone can follow to protect and nourish grey hair.
Grey hair loses pigment as it ages, and with that, it also loses some of its natural oil. This makes grey hair:

During winter, the air becomes dry both outdoors and indoors. Heaters remove moisture from the air, which pulls moisture from your hair as well. This is why grey hair often looks dull or rough in winter.
A simple winter routine helps keep the hair soft, shiny, and less prone to breakage.
Regular shampoos can remove the little natural oil that grey hair has. A moisturising shampoo cleans gently without drying the scalp.
Wash only once or twice a week

Rinse with lukewarm water, not hot water
Hot water strips moisture from the hair and makes it feel rough. Lukewarm water is much kinder to both hair and scalp.
Grey hair needs more hydration than regular hair. Deep conditioning once a week helps keep the hair silky and manageable.
