Users of the WhatsApp beta for Android can access this feature by updating their app from the Google Play Store. To test it, simply share a 1:1 photo format in a status update. If the background gradient filter appears around the edges, the feature is active on your account.

This new functionality addresses the issue of images or videos not completely filling the screen, which can lead to an unfinished look.
