Dubai Reviews Wasl’s 2025 Performance, Growth Plans Ahead

Dubai, UAE — H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, chaired a meeting of the Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC) Board where he reviewed Wasl Group’s performance for 2025, marking another strong year for the emirate’s real estate sector.

During the meeting, Sheikh Maktoum praised the continued momentum across DREC and Wasl Group, noting that the resilience and expansion of Dubai’s real estate market reflect the emirate’s broader economic strength. He highlighted that the sector remains central to job creation, infrastructure development and Dubai’s position as a global destination for residents, investors and visitors.

The session also reaffirmed Dubai’s long-term urban development vision shaped under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was noted that current real estate projects continue to elevate livability standards and enhance the emirate’s global competitiveness, aligning with strategic goals under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

A key point of review was Wasl Group’s progress on digital transformation. The programme, now moving from planning into execution, aims to improve customer experience, strengthen operational efficiency and expand business capacity across the Group’s portfolio.

Housing accessibility remained a major focus. The Board reviewed Wasl’s affordable housing achievements, confirming that the Group reached 45,000 affordable residential units in 2025. These units now make up 85% of Wasl’s leasing portfolio, offering residents established communities with green spaces, connectivity and essential amenities. In alignment with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, Wasl plans to double its residential leasing portfolio in the coming years to support a wider range of income groups.

The meeting was attended by senior board members including Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Mohamed Hadi Ahmed Al Hussaini, Rashid Mohammed Rashid Al-Mutawa, Shuaib Mir Hashem Khouri, Rashid Ali bin Oboud and Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla.

The Board concluded with a strong emphasis on maintaining momentum across real estate, hospitality and entertainment projects, ensuring that development remains aligned with Dubai’s long-term economic and urban goals.
