Trump to Join Iran Nuclear Talks “Indirectly” | Tensions Mount Ahead of Geneva Talks

Post by : Bianca Qureshi

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will be “indirectly involved” in upcoming high-stakes nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran, scheduled to take place in Geneva. The move comes as tensions in the Middle East escalate and follow a significant military buildup in the region.

Trump stressed the critical importance of the talks, indicating that Tehran appears motivated to reach an agreement this time around. In preparation, the U.S. has deployed substantial naval assets, including aircraft carriers, and is bracing for a range of scenarios should diplomatic efforts fail.

On the Iranian side, officials are pushing for negotiations aimed at limiting nuclear activities in return for sanctions relief. Ahead of the Geneva discussions, Iran is also conducting technical meetings with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

As global attention turns to Geneva, the outcome of these talks could have major implications for U.S.–Iran relations and regional security at large.
