The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) recently celebrated the hard work and success of its inventors, teachers, and researchers who received patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2024. The ceremony, held in the presence of His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the President of the UAE and Chancellor of UAEU, honored 37 outstanding innovators for their great contributions to research and technology.

In his speech, Chancellor Nusseibeh talked about how important new ideas and inventions are for the growth and development of the UAE. He stressed that UAEU is committed to supporting research that turns new ideas into solutions that can be used in the real world.
Chancellor Nusseibeh shared that in 2024, UAEU earned 30 new patents, bringing the total number of patents to 287. He explained that these patents help the university build stronger relationships with businesses and speed up the process of turning research into products and services that people can use. He also mentioned the importance of aligning research with the country's needs to make a bigger impact.
"We are very proud of our inventors and will continue to support their work," said Chancellor Nusseibeh. "Their inventions help make the UAE more competitive in the world and contribute to the country’s progress."
The new patents cover many fields, including chemical technology, materials science, environmental engineering, renewable energy, medical applications, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. These new inventions show that UAEU is serious about finding solutions to both local and global challenges.
The event celebrated not just individual researchers, but also the importance of working together with industries and the government to move forward in science and technology. This is an important step toward making the UAE a global leader in innovation.
